About the event
Come join Brenda and Caroline as they open their kitchens to us and share wisdom, good taste and recipes.
Caroline Parker will explore seasonal energetics in the kitchen and the crossover between food and medicine. She will catch us up with what she’s cooking up in her kitchen, making the most of this season’s bounty. Is it food or is it medicine? Either way, it’s delicious.
Caroline will be discussing and demonstrating a quick and easy winter tea; a Weedy Pie foraged from the backyard; one of her signature herbal-inspired cakes, and her favourite winter remedy - Fire Cider.
Brenda Rogers will discuss The Wise Traditions diet, which is based on the philosophy of respect for food, honouring the natural cycles and diversity of nature, and recognising the importance of locally sourced, sustainably raised foods. This approach supports individual health and promotes an ethical environmentally conscious food system.
The diet emphasises the importance of traditional preparation methods such as soaking, sprouting, and fermenting to improve the digestibility and nutrient availability of foods. It also advocates against processed foods, refined sugars, industrial seed oils, and grains that have not been properly prepared.
Recipes and downloads will be sent out when ticket sales close on Saturday 13th May 2023.
