Uranus in Taurus 2018 - 2026
Nancy Evelyn
December 2025
On the 9th November 2025 Uranus drew back into Taurus for the last time before it moves into Gemini for a solid 7-8 years of a whole new expression that will launch us into a completely new future. Since Uranus has an orbit of 84 years, we won’t be here again for a very long time. This is important.
Except for the period 6th Nov 2018 - 6th March 2019 when Uranus was in Aries and the period 7th July 2025 - 8th Nov 2025 when Uranus was in Gemini, Uranus has been in Taurus from 16th May 2018 and will be there until the 27th April 2026.
Taurus is the sign of fixed earth. It rules economy, finances, money, currency, and everything we value that money can and cannot buy. Personal values, cultural values, spiritual values, relationship values. It rules possessions, property, land, earth, agriculture and food production all the way from growing to eating. It rules security to protect all the creature comforts a sensitive Taurus enjoys. Taurus rules Earth and climate and conservation.
Uranus brings innovation, disruption, sudden radical change, revolution, and liberation. It seems to create the problems and then find the solutions to those problems. Uranus speaks of the vast cosmic mind and views life from a great distance expressing itself in science, technology and innovation. Uranus transits bring massive amounts of change with high energy and a loaded electrical charge. It is a cosmic bolt of lightning that can cause the tower to crumble. It is fair to say Uranus is the wild card. It speaks the truth, breaks the boundaries, in ways that cannot be expected with a suddenness we cannot prepare for, and like it or not, it brings freedom.
This is a challenging time that we all feel in the Taurus part of our soul that yearns for safety, stability, security and creature comfort, art on the walls, flowers in the garden and a loving partner to share a meal with. Uranus challenges our comfort zone: food, sexuality, intimate love and love of comfort. All shaking up. Breaking the rules.
Uranus sharpens the intuition and tightens the connection to the cosmic. Powerful intuition shows in practical Taurus matters. Our relationship with physical possessions and materialism is challenged. Suddenly our sense of what we value and what provides security is changed. Suddenly we need love to feel like more than an easy chair in front of the Television. Can you hear freedom calling?
Since Uranus moved into Taurus the world and society as we once knew it has definitely changed. Earth herself has been shaking things up with earthquakes, tidal waves, volcanic activity, massive storms and radical climate change. These can be seen as the gestational changes a planet body experiences in creating a new life, giving birth to herself.
Covid19 dominated the Australian psyche 2020 - 2022. While Neptune rules all things viral, Taurus rules the economy which was suddenly shut down. Devastated. A few Taurus sectors like mining, logging of forests, real estate and take away coffee were allowed to keep trading. At the same time some very Uranian tech sectors like Zoom suddenly blossomed allowing people to accept the social restrictions and work from home and get used to technology in our communities. Homeless people suddenly and temporarily were found homes. Centrelink payments increased enough to pay rent and eat. We can spot the Taurus themes for sure but there are other factors at play, like Pluto in the last 6 degrees of Capricorn transforming social order by exposing deep corruption of the old - but that is another story.
In this time of Uranus in Taurus Agriculture is news. We’ve witnessed the growth of Agriculture Technology aka “precision agriculture“ using smart irrigation, drones and increasing reliance on AI. We have also witnessed the equal and opposite reaction to this, visible in the radical shift away from technology altogether off grid and back to earth, in simple living, small scale conscious farming, and re wilding. Farming is never easy and much harder in climate change. European farmers and winemakers have been protesting their low standard of living since 2019 in the face of EU Green Farming laws to cut pesticide use and increase fallow land to improve biodiversity. The Taurus concerns of economy and food production and security get very complicated.
Money is always news, but with Uranus ruling all things digital, Digital Currency is gaining traction along with a resurgence of appreciation of the cash economy. Smarter phones and chips appear every year along with the resurgence of the landline telephone and screen free Homelife.
Freedom in relating - love is love and gender fluidity. Relating is much easier when we are dispassionately Uranian. The passionate opposition to personal freedom comes from the fear of loss of personal power (Pluto) and becomes a threat to the social order (Capricorn) that provided that personal power - harking once again to Pluto in the end game of Capricorn that was happening until November 2024 when Pluto went into Aquarius.
This is life in the Aquarian Age. The ancient ancient and the modern modern living side by side and interacting. The personal gain and the collective good challenging each other. One informing the other. It’s time we get used to it.
I haven’t mentioned the wars, genocide, violence, madness and Donald 2. These relate to outer planets in conversation with Mars, notably Pluto, but all the outer planets relating to inner planets have jointly influenced our geo political experience. That is a story for another day.
From the 21st March 2026 no planets will be in retrograde. All energy looks forward and is moving rapidly into the future. While Uranus will still be at the end degrees of Taurus it is moving rapidly to Gemini and will be at 0° Gemini on the 27th April 2026.
We have only a short time left of Uranus in Taurus. Now is the time to review in our personal life what has survived the Uranian shake up and appreciate how it has changed. Now is the time to befriend our flexible inner stability, our moral true north, and be clear on what we value so we can move into the new with integrity and with gratitude.
