Opposites Attract

Astrology is usually learned around the wheel of the zodiac. The signs read around the clock face describe the development of a lifetime from the first breath of Aries to the return to spirit of Pisces.
However there is deep understanding to be had from exploring the oppositions of the zodiac. Polarity in Astrology offers a key to balancing the wheel.
An opposition indicates a major challenging relationship between very different energies. In a birth chart the tension indicated by an opposition describe the essential conflicts we need to fulfil our life purpose. Something we prepared earlier to take us where we need to grow.
Opposites attract. We sparkle with our opposite. They are so attractive. So hot. When the honeymoon is over and the conflict arises we blame them for the very things we found so attractive. Ain’t love grand?
We humans have a tendency to project conflict outwardly on to someone else or a situation outside of self that is signified by the sign opposing our sun, moon or ascendant sign. For example Leo will blame Aquarius.
It runs deeper than that, though. The negative expression of the sign opposing our personal planets and points holds the key to where we personally need to shine some light inwardly. There is a cosmic street sign “shadow work this way” pointing to the dark or negative expression of the sign opposite.
Life is easier when we mentally investigate and emotionally explore within ourselves the characteristics of the sign opposite our sun sign, moon sign and ascendant sign.
When we don’t do this work consciously, life will do it for us. Usually through relationships. We will repeatedly attract a person, people or circumstances into our lives that personify the dark nature of the sign opposing our sun, moon or ascendant.
Understanding the signs of the zodiac is a life long learning. The more we observe the inner working that gives rise to the outward expression of each sign, the richer will be our understanding of life.
Each of the 12 signs of the zodiac is partnered with its polar opposite sign to form a theme or axis. Applying our understanding of each sign to its opposite sign will reveal the deeper natural organic development going back and forth between them.
Some worthwhile enquiry: consider that each sign informs the opposing sign on at least three levels:
The level of personality or character development;
The level of emotional and spiritual growth through shadow work; and
The level of desire for this lifetime i.e., Karma.
Understanding the nuance of these polarities is an ongoing life observation. Below is a rapid fire guide to polarities.
Polarity Axis Themes:
Aries / Libra Axis of Relationship
Taurus / Scorpio Axis of Power
Gemini / Sagittarius Axis of Thought
Cancer / Capricorn Axis of Security
Leo / Aquarius Axis of Creativity
Virgo / Pisces Axis of Compassion
Earth is changing. It’s a wild ride. We Earthlings are living in a turbulent time of endings and beginnings marked by a rare and powerful transformational alignment of planets.
There is right now a HUGE emphasis on the Leo / Aquarius Axis of Creativity, working with the Axis of Relationship and the Axis of Thought.
We are in the cauldron now. We are in process. We can each of us positively and creatively contribute (Leo) to the awakening collective consciousness (Aquarius).
Relationship, Thought and Creativity is exactly what is needed to co-create our new Earth space.
