Neptune is a subtle but powerful energy.  So subtle is the Neptunian influence that most people are insensitive to its transits and will ride mindlessly through its energy. In a mad rush, multi-tasking, gotta get it all done in one day, vervain kind of life, there is little room for awareness of spiritual energy. But in our solar system, it is Neptune’s influence that holds sacred space.

When Neptune is in direct relation to a point or planet in our natal chart, there is the potential for awakening to spirit and unity consciousness. The potential opens to resonate with all that is.

The shadow expression of Neptune when its spirit is not recognised is deception and delusion. To deceive and to be deceived.  When high-frequency reality is denied, Neptunian energy can be used to hide in the unseen secretive bottom of the harbour deception, and any current paradigm bubble of belief can be used as a justification for bad behaviour.  The emperor has no clothes.  Welcome to the geo-political world of 2025.

Saturn is very different to Neptune. Saturn is a very real 3D energy. It is the last planet in our solar system that can be seen with the naked eye.  Saturn is the limit, and it feels limiting, constricting and boundary-setting. Lessons learned in a Saturn transit are memorable because they are learned through difficulty.  Decisions are made of necessity, maturity develops with a sense of responsibility and respect is earned.

Time, linear or circular, belongs to Saturn. Age, wisdom, and hard facts are Saturnian concepts. So is the concept of consequence. “There will be hell to pay” “There will be tears before tea time”  Saturn speaks of karma.

Every 36 years, Saturn will conjunct Neptune. Flashback 1989: Saturn-Neptune conjunction in Capricorn, and the Berlin Wall came down.  It’s a game-changing year whenever Saturn brings a sober reality check to the invisible, pervading spiritual energy and nebulous world of beliefs, dreams and potential that is Neptune’s energy.  A year of consequences when this happens at any degree in any sign.

No one can remember the last time there was a Saturn-Neptune conjunction at 0° Aries.  This is the creation point, the manifestation point of the beginning of the zodiac. The points of endings (29° Pisces) and beginnings (0° Aries) show in a physical earth manifestation.  It is a direct link to Gaia, and all Earthling life forms will feel this.  The last time we were here was somewhere around 7,000 BCE, thought to be the dawn of agriculture… but who knows really.

Something for the date nerds:

In 2025-2026, there are three dates for the Saturn-Neptune conjunction within 1° of  the critical 0° Aries point, the world axis indicating major global and initiatory shifts:

• 14 May to 9 June 2025;

• 31 July to 14 Sept 2025 in retrograde;

• 5 Feb to 2 March 2026.

There is an exact conjunction at 0° Aries from the 14th to 22nd February 2026.  A critical week for the prevailing way of life in the context of social cohesion.  It marks a shift felt throughout the paradigm of our times, and it will be interesting to see how this unfolds.

Something for everyone:

These planets have been dancing together in their move from Pisces endings and Aries beginnings within 8° of each other since 24th February 2025. On the 18th May 2026, Saturn will move away, deeper into Aries.

Since 31st March 2025, when Neptune first moved to Aries and Saturn followed on 26th May 2025, life on Earth really heated up. The oceans (Neptune) are too warm (Aries) for life as we know it. The impact on Gaia is primary in astrology.  Everything follows from there.  Geopolitically, there is war. Everywhere we look. On every level we look, there is personal conflict to face. This new age is being birthed in blood (Aries rules blood).

Both planets are going back to Pisces (Saturn on 2nd September, Neptune on 23rd October) for one last look to see if anything of the old paradigm should be coming with us to the new and making sure nothing is standing of the old structures and ideals that cannot make the transition to a new age.

Strange how that feels like a relief from the warring, fighting, low-vibrational, wounded, masculine, patriarchal Aries energy we have been living with.

Both planets are moving forward into Aries “for good”,  and that is our job. Each of us Earth-loving, Earth-healing, Earth medicine Earthlings is here to pull up the Aries for good. To personally find within our hearts the divine Neptune in the masculine Aries energy and to choose love over fear in our own unique heroic expression. To act with kindness changes the world.

Neptune, on 27th January 2026, will again move into Aries and remain there for 14 years.  Saturn will move again to Aries on 14th February exactly conjunct Neptune and will stay in Aries until 2028. We have our work cut out for us.

In the background, the Nodes of The Moon — Pisces north / Virgo south — are activating the world-changing karma of the eclipse seasons. Virgo reminds us it is the sieve that will allow us to hold what is of value as we wash away what is not essential to the new, as we aim for the highest expression of the Pisces north node.  The collective soul evolution is yearning for unity consciousness, compassion, and respect for the sacred subtle energies that underpin life in all its expressions.

In a nutshell

Neptune in Aries expresses as the spiritual warrior. There is an urgency to stand in our spiritual truth and act in the world, within that truth, fight for and defend what is right to fight for, and defend within our spiritual truth.

But how do we know what we believe is true at a time of intentional deception?  When algorithmic social media bubbles feed us only what we already believe to be true, a collective tribal consciousness develops (Neptune) that Aries energy in a negative expression is ready to react violently to defend. Ironically, it is a Mars transit that will pop the algorithmic bubbles most people live in, triggering big reactions.

We have been experiencing the stark reality of negative Aries energy on a world scale. We desperately need Saturn here to contain immediate reactions and give us a reality check as we move into Aries.

Saturn is a sober voice that speaks of rules, universal law and the order of life.  It speaks of time and death and the way things go. It speaks of consequences and wisdom born of experience and respect born of responsibility.

Saturn, conjunct Neptune at its highest frequency, is found in spiritual practice. We are living the perfect time to use our mindful awareness of energy and the ability to heal with love and compassion in the practical, everyday, small ways of a Virgo South Node.

Living Metta, loving kindness, is a practical way of life. Compassion can be a knee-jerk reaction.  Through our spiritual practice, we co-create our future. One small act of kindness after another creates a gift economy.

Saturn speaks to our conscience. Deep in our heart, we find our universal connection to all that is (Neptune and north node Pisces). And deep in our heart, in our universal connection to all that lives, we know there will be consequences to everything we do and every thought we think that activates unskillful action. Deep in our hearts, we know what is right.
