When feelings of overwhelm and anxiety grip me, I recall the wisdom of Hippocrates: "Look well to the spine for the cause of disease." This ancient insight inspires me to focus on my posture and spinal health as a pathway to alleviate anxiety symptoms.
Did you know?
The spine serves as our body's energetic highway, and simple movements can help open up this vital energy flow.
Here are six practices I find particularly effective:
Forward Bend
Whether standing or sitting, bending forward allows the spine to stretch and release tension, promoting energy circulation.
Backward Bend
Arching the spine backwards helps to prevent the effects of prolonged sitting, promoting flexibility and energy flow.
Side Bend
Lateral stretches relieve tension along the sides of the spine, enhancing mobility and energy distribution.
Up and Down Movement
Jumping or vibrating up and down encourages energy to flow vertically through the spine, energising the body.
Twisting
Gentle twists to the right and left stimulate spinal mobility and promote detoxification, aiding in energy flow.
Spinal Tapping
Lightly tapping along the spine stimulates nerve endings and enhances circulation, revitalising the body's energy channels
Additionally, spending time in the sun allows its nourishing rays to replenish and energise. Letting the sun kiss your skin promotes Vitamin D synthesis, which is vital for mood regulation and overall well-being.
By integrating these practices into my daily routine, I nurture both my physical and energetic health, implementing a sense of balance and calm among life's challenges.
